Pearson Drilling Company uses the
CME-850 to access remote and hard-to-reach location
sites. The wide tracks spread the surface contact
area of this all-terrain track drill over more than
8,800 square inches. Ground bearing pressure is
less than the average man's footstep. The CME-850
can go places a person can't even walk. The high
flotation allows Pearson Drilling Company to negotiate
soft mud, deep snow or sand. And, the walking beam
suspension easily climbs over rocks and fallen logs.
This rig has a very low center of gravity which
provides the stability needed in off-road conditions.
Angle drilling capability is standard.
CME-850
With 28,275 pounds (12,826 kg) of retract force
and up to 14,250 foot pounds (19,323 Nm) of rotary
torque, the CME-850 is capable of drilling holes
up to 15 inches (38 cm) in diameter using hollow
stem augers.
GEOTECHNICAL SERVICES and CAPABILITIES
- Soil Sampling
- Geotechnical Instrument Installation: Piezometers
- Monitoring, recovery and de-watering wells
- Soil boring, soil and water sampling
- Rock core sampling

Our auger drills are equipped with split spoon samplers,
safety hammers, teflon bailers and other necessary
tools for soil or water sampling and monitor well
installation. All of the auger rigs have quick disconnect
derricks for work inside structures. Both CME drills
are equipped with automatic hammers for driving split
spoon samplers. Pearson has available a Hydro-Punch
sampler and a 2" submersible pump equipped with
300 feet of discharge tubing.
The CME-75 drilling rig (not pictured) is very fast.
Retract rates of up to 90 feet (27 m) per minute mean
quick cycle times when adding augers or tripping out
of the hole. The dependable mechanical rotary drive
is available with up to 13,000 foot pounds (17,628
Nm) of torque for auger drilling holes up to 16 inches
(41 cm) in diameter.
